Lithodid Crab

Introduction
Have you ever wondered what a lithodid crab is? Well if you have you've come to the right place! Today we're gonna talk about The relatives, Predators, And their history.
Relatives
The Lithodid are siblings to the Alaskan king crab and California king crab. There distant relatives Japanese spider crabs, Coconut crabs, the paddle crab, and the hermit crab Lithodid crab the Is also one of the only crabs to be able to stand the pressure of the deep sea atmosphere.
Predators & Protection
The lithodid crabs have a lot of predators for example sharks. Sharks love lithodid crabs and it's one of the only things they can eat in the deep. There are also turtles that eat the lithodid crabs, When lithodid crabs come up closer to the reefs the turtles see the crabs and b-line straight to the crab, Another predator they have is humans. In alaska lithodid crabs are pest’s to locals, The reason why is because the lithodid crabs kill the fish in the area for food and with alaska being frozen 3 quarters of the year this time for catching food is very critical for survival. With all of the predators how do the crabs even survive!
The way lithodid crabs protect themselves is in a rather weird way they do it, The way Lithodid crabs defend themselves is with their claws and spikes, First we will go over the claws. The lithodid crabs have claws that are 7 x 7 centimeters long and wide, They use their claws to kill prey like fish, other crabs, snails, etc And they also use their claws to move rocks, shells, and obstacles out of their way. They also use their claws for defending themselves from crabs and fish that want a bite from them.
Next are the spikes on their back, The reason they have the spikes on their back is because when a turtle tries to attack the spikes will act as a knife stabbing the turtle in the nose and that will ditur the turtle into attacking the crab.
Conclusion
In conclusion the lithodid crab is a fierce creature with its crushing claws and fearful spikes and they are pests, creatures of the deep, and very very dangerous to marine life if they try and attack. With that sentence we conclude this report I hoped you have liked it!
